Can't enter what with the Android browser? Enter the DirectAdmin control panel? I've had no problem using my HTC Hero (sprint) to login to DirectAdmin in the past but it's not working now. Why? I have no idea. I did check to see if Sprint was changing IP#s as it would if it it were using a proxy, but it's not.

I have no idea who to ask.

Perhaps John can give me some insight as to what might be happening.

Hello,

If it was working prior to using DA 1.34.5, there has been a new security feature for the referer header check which makes sure that all posts match the referer used at login time.

Try shutting off this check to see if it makes any difference.

If the login page is just refreshing with no errors, check this guide.

But if it's a browser issue, where one works, the other doesn't, I would guess it's related to the referer check.. or even possibly cookies.

If your browser is using a proxy.. and that proxy keeps bouncing IPs, shutting off the IP check for sessions may also help.

If the referer check is the cause of the login failure, run DA in debug mode, with the referer check turned on. Check to see what DA says the mismatch is with the referer, and let me know (perhaps that browser passes the referer differently)

I just thought I'd let you know that it was the IP check that was preventing it from working on android and through a tethered android phone. Changing that setting made it work.

@jgaris:

Thanks for taking the time to update us. By any chance have you managed to set up a hardware keyboard to use with a shell login? I've got a working shell program but it's hard to use with the soft-keyboard.

Same Problem?

I really hoped I was having this same problem, but putting both or either of these settings in my directadmin.conf file doesn't help. I checked my disk space and I have 14GB left.

Service/Phone - T-Mobile/Vibrant
Browser - Firefox
Connection - Wireless Tether
Software Versions - Everything is pretty updated (I don't know how to check DirectAdmin's version number, especially without being able to log in easily).
Symptoms - After logging in, IF it accepts my credentials (I don't get login errors - it just returns me to the login page, often), I click a link on the page and it asks me to log in again. Whether it takes my login credentials and loads a page seems random.
Attempted Fixes - I've added check_referer=0 to the .conf file, I replaced it with disable_ip_check=1, I put both in and I removed both after nothing made any difference.

Edit: I am able to connect via SSH and edited /usr/local/directadmin/conf/directadmin.conf with VI through that connection.

Do I need to restart DirectAdmin after making these changes? Feel free to suggest anything I didn't specifically mention that might seem obvious =) I'd really like to be able to access DirectAdmin again.

A general rule is if you make a change to a config file you then have to restart the service that uses that config file. Ex. DirectAdmin, apache, bind, exim.

I appreciate the Unix lesson =) You can't count me as a complete retard considering that I asked if it needed to be done, but I definitely should've known that was an implied step =X

I don't know what =) or =X means nor did I mean to imply that you are retard.
