Hello,

I have an hosting account with DirectAdmin control panel.
I use Google Apps for emails. I setup the Google Apps DNS records in my DA panel and i am able to send and receive emails.

Now i installed Joomla and i added a contact form on my website. But the contact form does not work.

I think the problem is that Google Apps requires SSL, while DirectAdmin does not support SSL, since i have not an SSL certificate nor a dedicated IP.

Can i use Google Apps with DirectAdmin to send and receive emails using php applications like Joomla?

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Yes, and whether GoogleApps requires SSL or not, is not relevant. Joomla should use your local mail server, and not GoogleApps for sending email from the contact form.

Make sure that you have set up your MX records exact like this (and that you uncheck the box beside "Use this server to handle my emails"): http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en-uk&answer=61162
