Problem with updating

Hello,

I try to update the DirectAdmin from v1.23.5 to v1.254 and I have few problems.
I try to update from the DirectAdmin but it's give me this error:
This is an automated message notifying you that an error has occurred while trying to update the software.
The generated error message is as follows:

Error restoring file /usr/local/directadmin/update.tar.gz : <br>
<br>


Please contact JBMC-Software, including the error message. Failure to do so could result in an inactive control panel.

And I try to update with this guide but when I doing this commend tar xvzf update.tar.gz it's given me this error:
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

What I can do?
