ive read all those and tryed the fix in the thread but didnt work. im still trying to learn and saying how to fix it would be good

The restriction is done from the admin level. Its called "PHP SafeMode Configuration"

i have been looking int he php.ini and just dont know which bit to change i dont want to change the wrong thing incase i make it worse

Why do that when you can make a few clicks and fix it from within DirectAdmin.

Do it for all the sites that are giving you errors.

is there any one out there that will just tell me which bit to change instead of going round and round?

Dude I already told you exactly what to do. The only thing left is to actually guide your hand on the mouse.
