Problem with wildcard subdomains - error 404

I have encountered the following problem:

I have enabled wildcard subdomains but it works only with root URL, others return 404 error.

The URL https://mydomain.com/assets/xxx/media/image.png works but https://any.mydomain.com/assets/xxx/media/image.png returns 404.

I hope someone can help me with this problem.

Thanks for your reply.

To enable wildcard DNS, I added an A record with asterisk for a host and added ServerAlias *.domain-name to configure the virtual host with directadmin.

So you have Apache on your server, correct? And do you have probably Nginx in front of Apache?

If there is a NGINX sitting in front of Apache, then you should customize NGINX the same way.

but what to add in custom filed for Nginx or Nginx_Apache ?
