I followed these instructions http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=15 to set up Openssl but I can't to be able to access the control panel via https whereas http works just fine.

I'm getting this "The page cannot be displayed".

The strange thing is the homepage can be access via https with no problems.

Many thanks,
Ben

Hey,

I know you said you followed the instructions, but just to check...

Did you do this part as well?

Edit the /usr/local/directadmin/conf/directadmin.conf and set SSL=1 (default is 0). This tells DA to load the certificate and key and to use an SSL connection. DirectAdmin needs to be restarted after this change.

David,

Yes I did that as well. I also rebooted the server too.

It's still not working for some reasons.

Hey,

If you haven't already, you may want to double check to make sure the SSL=1 stayed in the directadmin.conf file, because from what I've seen, what you describe will occur if SSL=1 isn't set.

Just a thought.

David

David,

I already checked.

Still can't figure it out. I already email support and am waiting to hear back from them.

Hope someone can come up with something in the mean time.

Regards,
Ben

Hey,

Good move.

Be sure to post their findings as it may help someone else down the road.

Got it figured out.

What happened was I forgot one step in the instructions.
I forgot to do this:

chown diradmin:diradmin /usr/local/directadmin/conf/cakey.pem

DirectAdmin rocks.

Thanks,
Ben
