I have setup now like 30 domains and my headdomain is working all the time, but the oter domains are not working right. Most of the time you get "Page cannot be found" and not very often you will get the site you have askes for that runs on the server.

But if I go to http://myserversip/~user then the site will work for 100% but if I go to http://www.usersdomain.com then I get very often "Page cannot be found"... I have restarted named reloaded it and even get the new bootfile from the DA site but nothing worked, I don't get it what it can be :( could somebody please help me out?? Thank you very much!

Hey,

If you'd post one of the domains that doesn't work someone can help locate the problem... Aside from that:

Are you sure the domains that are not working are pointing to the right domain name servers?

It sounds like you might be trying to use DA for name servers, if so, are the domains pointing to that server?

Those are the most obvious questions...

Yes, my headdomain is: www.thijma.com

And a few domains who are not working properly are:
etc..

The nameservers are ns1.thijma.com and ns2.thijma.com but they are working for 100% also checked with dnsreport!

All the domainnames have worked perfect until last week suddenly this weird thing is happening that you get "Page not found".. I don't get it at all :S

Hey,

They all pull up fine here as well...

Might look at the computer/whatever you are trying to access them from...

David

that's impossible, some of my clients have the same problem :S I dont get it

Maby your DNS @ the your internet-provider where not updated. and now they are.. I think

maby next time, if it happents you most do:

tracert domeinname.nl

than you can see, where it go's wrong.. if its connecting to your serverIP

yes I know that, but the strange thing was that the domains have worked a couple of weeks and suddenly the didn't work, last night I have rebooted my server and now the domains are working again. I think that something was wrong with named but now it seems after the reboot that It has been solved :)

still something not right

now after a week, I still got compaints from customers that some people can't visit their site but the customer himself and also me can visit his site... very weird

I get the idea when i restart apache via directadmin cp, that the site's are working 100% but after a day or even more that the system get stuck again. Could it be that some script get hanged? I don't know how to fix this big problem :( help wanted!

It looks like you may not have added ns1 and ns2 A records to your dns zone file. Your zone file has a serial number of 2004071402 which would indicate it was changed 3 times on 7/14 or "a couple weeks ago." In addition, your registrar record was updated on 7/2/04 there could be a problem there. Make sure your registrar has ns1.thijma.com and ns2.thijma.com registered as valid nameservers. I don't mean listed as the nameservers for your domain. You must actually create your host nameservers with your registrar.

When I Dig thijma.com, I get:

luca# dig thijma.com

; <<>> DiG 8.3 <<>> thijma.com
;; res options: init recurs defnam dnsrch

The reply makes no reference to there being any hosts called ns1.thijma.com and ns2.thijma.com.

Pulling your zone file confirms what LyricTung said, no ns1 or ns2 A records.

I have the A records as you can see below:

thijma.com%20zone.JPG

What could it be then?

Hey,

See where your link shows ns1.thijma.com and ns1.thijma.com on the left hand side.

It should ONLY have "ns1" and "ns2"

Leave the "thijma.com" off when you enter ns1 and ns2

Does that make sense?
