problems with the site

i have some problems with my site.
1. i cant login in to my ftp acount. it tires to connect and then says time out.
2. my site fell today. it doesnt work and i get page cannot be found.
3. in mySQL i got this messege:Error connecting to MySQL: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

can anyone help me?
 
Afraid we'll need more info.

Do you use DirectAdmin?
Are you the Server Admin or a Hosted User?
Did you pay your hosting bill?

and what steps have you taken in trying to figure this out? What OS is it?
 
lol until someone replayed my situation changed :P

i can now login but the when i enter my site it says:
Hey, it worked !
The SSL/TLS-aware Apache webserver was
successfully installed on this website.
If you can see this page, then the people who own this website have just installed the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content.

(it installed itself)

welll like it said i wanted to replace the placeholder page but when i entered myfiles, everything was there including my index page. now i dont even know what apache is lol so what should i do?

(oh and for you question im hosted and this is a free acount. think i use a direct admin)
