This happens about every day... My server should be able to handle the amount of users I have, so I've got no clue why it happens..
I run a vBulletin forum and whenever a DB error happens I receive an email.. So what I think happens is that the httpd processes piles up and opens plenty of mysqld processes (or however that works), and when the max amount of connections is reached for mysqld it starts sending out emails and thats when exim piles up..
I've managed to get a screenshot from directadmin so you guys can see what it looks like:
Do any of you have a clue of why this happens and possibly an idea on how to solve it?
