proftp problem

hello,
I have already 50 ftp accounts on my DA server.
I have created the 51th one but its not working. i am able to login to ftp, but not able to list the contents of the directory.
After logging into ftp. If i do ls, it just hangs over there.
i have given 777 permission to the ftp51 folder.

Might be a firewall/port issue. Do the other previous 50 accounts work?
Ftp uses port 21 to login on, then you use a random high port number to connect for data transfers, like "ls".

Also, try changing your ftp clients settings from PASV to PORT, or vice versa, depending on what you currently have.

Also test the system after shutting off your firewall:

/sbin/service iptables stop

to see if that helps the port issue (if it is in fact a port issue)

If you can login ok, but just can't see anything, then it's likely not the account itself, but rather the ports being used.
