ProFTPD 1.3.5 is now released. The new version is already available in custombuild. Read more at http://proftpd.org:

The ProFTPD Project team is pleased to announce the availability of 1.3.5 to the community. This is the stable release of the 1.3.5 development cycle, containing multiple minor bugfixes and updates from the last RC. The RELEASE_NOTES and NEWS files contain, as always, the full details.

Ok, some how old users (that had a static IP) were still in the /etc/proftpd.vhosts.conf resulting in this
2014-05-18 11:13:37 fatal: AuthUserFile: unable to use /usr/local/directadmin/data/users/xxxx/ftp.passwd: No such file or directory on line 4 of '/etc/proftpd.vhosts.conf'
So be aware.

OK, I got that working now, thanks anyway
Just delete the VH from the file.....

To add, not sure if this is a bug or what, I remember that users are saved to another file now, and the vhost.conf was redundant? Either way, deleted accounts aren't removed properly

Same here

I emptied this total file ( all vh), started proftpd then it runs, therefore then no ftp logins possible for those Users, after that to keep it simple i give that directadmin users in directadmin panel a new password set/send per mail.
After this it seems alright.
Did i forgot something?

Sory forgotten

In this file (etc/proftpd.vhosts.conf')
After backing it up ofcourse, the users wich should be send /set the new pasword are in this file to read.

The vhost file is needed if you offer static IPs and SSL for those.
Simply point AuthUserFile to the proper password file, /etc/proftpd.passwd, and you'll have one of the most secure FTP servers out there will full Perfect Forward Secrecy support via TLS 1.2.

N.B
If your VH file breaks every time you add a user, make sure you update the template. The token |AuthUserFile| should add the path to the proper passwd file

How about removing users, why isn't the config file being rewritten. I guess old proftp versions didn't care about the config file, but this is the only time I've seen my error (by the way, only apache templates are in custom/)
