proftpd start and stop service

Hi

When i browse to Service Monitor i can see the proftpd service running.

I think is for my ftp so i can connect to my server.

Is it ok if i stop it from there and enable it only when i need to use ftp?

I will need to restart only this service when i enable it back or the server?

Doesnt the monitor restart it if it goes down? You'll need to disable it from the monitoring, which for the life of me, forgot what file it is.
 
I was told in this forum that when you stop a service from the Service Monitor it won't restart, I guess you just have to try, and wait for 1 minute.
 
When you stop a service from DA the config file changes to no longer monitor that service. I have actually witnessed the change.
