public_html and index.html problem

Today, I start work with DirectAdmin and I have simply problem.
When I sent new index.html to public_html directory, nothing happens.
at www.mydomain.com it's nothing change.

maybe I do something wrong.
Where I must put my index.html??
directories:
public_html, private_html, public_ftp .

please, try to help me

I already visited this site and nothing helpful for me there.
I did everything the same like on this page.
Another file dosen't work too. For example test.html when I try start it by www.mydomain.com/test.html I have error 404.

Maybe I must change something in settings? but what?

Maybe dns are not correctly propaged yet.

Without the real domain name we cant help you.

I can see the index page, prolly is just dns.
