Questions on upgrading my server

Hi,

My server has several aspects that are out of date. I'm wondering what order I should do upgrades and if there are things I should be aware of / precautions I should take while doing it.

Here are my current levels:

Apache 1.3.41
DirectAdmin 1.33.6
Exim 4.67
MySQL 5.0.67
Named 9.3.4
PHP 4.4.9
ProFTPd 1.3.1

Mostly I'm interested in getting to a version 5 level PHP but am wondering how I could restore it back to 4.4.9 in case my shopping cart application breaks.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You can use custombuild 1.1 to go back to php 4.x. You should definitely upgrade your shopping cart software though if it is not compatible. Php 4.x has been EOL for many years.
