I gave ample notice to all my clients from May last year, then a reminder in September and this notice is on my website - yet, I still have clients sitting on their bums at the last minute! ?‍♂️

And people wonder why I prefer being on my own with my cats..... People are so effort!

All the best Peter. I think I've seen you on other forum/s as well.
Take care.

Just shutdown the webserver for a week. Then once they all panic they will move.

I'm shutting it down in an hour, mate, as planned, don't worry.......

I will never start up another business/project that relies heavily on customer interaction.....

Like, this morning I was DM'd in a Discord server as I broke a rule. You know, you can't really say anything these days without offending the heck out of people. I said, "that is women for you" - a response aimed at 2 female cats, but someone got triggered. I immediately left, I will still sleep at night. ?‍♂️ Humans are effort like, I said.

Working with customers can be real nice, but in som business also sometimes a real pain in the ass. If the scale drops to much to that side, then the fun of it is gone.

Phooeeee... you can say that again. People are stept on their toes nowadays for the minimum of things, seems everybody is stressed and don't understand humor or a bit of sarcasm for fun anymore.

But humans can be fun. I don't like cats, more dogs. And they are always happy when I come home. :)

Anyway, nice to have known you and good luck in anything you're going to do in the future! Keep well!

I will love them in your stead.
That's nice of you. :)
It's not that I hate them, I like to see them sometimes, but I wouldn't like to own them.
Some are cat persons, some are dog persons, some are both. I'm a dog and parrot person. :D

Feel your pain.
I had the same issue when I migrated hosting providers for one of my hosting servers
I use several providers and the hardware was getting old but the price was not viable for an upgrade with that provider ,
that provider was bought by a LARGE corporation which do what they do best for a 14 year client... you become a number that can "please hold" and never get to talk with the actual tech people anymore... because of policy?

long story short some clients had A records set...

I called them on the phone asking to take action, e-mailed, manually placed notices on the invoices for affected clients..

I kept the server online for an extra month just to make sure everybody was happy with the migration.. no "missing emails" or "database entry" during the DNS switch.. , that extra month of both servers online passed

all of the sudden many tickets started flowing in... "why is my site down" "server issue" "problem with the server" ... and even one chargeback?! ( calm down i won that claim heh).

and don't get me started on those who never EVER upgrade their open source scripts (after notices of-course), guess that's a rant for another day ..

Yeah.. sucks ,but it's part of doing business.
