i have 3 big sites with Seven thousand hits per day for each three sites!
some time the server Very heavy and very slow also stop work!!
I check Service Monitor and see there that the httpd and the mysqld Full numbers!
My question:
Is this server too small? Can not hold that amount of hits?
What should I improve? What should I do?
Sincerely

Hello,

Hire somebody to do the following work or choose a way to go (or mix them):

1. Upgrade hardware
2. Tune existing software and it's settings.
3. Tune/rewrite PHP/Perl scripts.
4. Install additional software: PHP code accelerators
5. Switch to frontend+backend scheme
6. Set up monitoring system, per-user monitoring, per-user limits.

It's not impossible to teach you what to do, having only those numbers, you've posted above.

There's a lot of step-be-step manuals and guides (even on this forum). Please google.

When you've got a certain question, please, feel free to ask.

If this is who I think it is, I helped him by optimising Apache & MySQL and that helped the load come down from 40ish to 5.xx.

Has it fallen over at all since I optimised it?

Petter Before you help me .. two days I did not know what that smile, I was nervous all the time because of all the clutter and server falls!
After your treatment and I do not want to talk .. just to say thank you!
every thing work perfect but i am still wory about server load!!

I have to discuss it Monday, as I've new clients coming out my ears lately, this was why I wasn't online on MSN. My Google rank is improving it seems.

Just to say, as (all of) your clients have Joomla, it will hurt the server more because MySQL is being hit every second. I did enable query cache, keep monitoring it, may need to increase the cache size a bit if the load is too high.
