Hello, this is my first post + a newbie so excuse me if i've made a mistake. I have a client that is very sticky about thier spam setup, apparently their old web host had some nice features, that DA spamassassin doesn't have...??? they have 30+ email accounts and their main IT person wants to be able have the spam directed into a catch all folder so that you can review it all daily for possible messages that were flagged as spam that were actually good.

I'm trying to find this catch all spamassassin folder in their account... where is it located? is there a way he can just log into a global webmail account to view this folder? Do i need to actually set this up?

I find the documentation on this sparse... or maybe someone can direct me to some solid info on this?

Thanks.

It should be available from any imap client; if none other, try squirrelmail, logged in as the login user.

Yes... thanks i was only looking in webmail, and the spam folder doesn't show up?... but in squirrel mail it is there, so this works. Thanks.

I have really been wanting somebody to explain this to me. What good does it do to send all possible spam email to another box if you still have to review it daily?

Thats exactly my question to my client!... it makes no sense to me... why would you want to have to sort thru hundreds of spam email everyday opposed to just deleting a few here and there throughout the day?... but if you met this person you'd realize he's a piece of work. More time than brains i guess. There is over 35 clients on this server and he is the only one doing this..

I wrote SpamBlocker because that's my point as well, but I now find that that using both SpamBlocker and SpamAssassin together is quite effective.

And you can generally scan through the emails quickly. I find that I can search through a thousand emails in less than ten minutes.

However I download them to my local desktop, and sort them into their own folder there, and scan over them every few days to every few weeks.

Jeff, i'm not familiar with SpamBlocker?... is this a desktop application? is this something my client could use opposed to needing to log into squirrelmail to view the contents to the catchall spam folder? Is there a cost for the program? where can i find more info about it?

Thanks

SpamBlocker is the default exim.conf file that comes with DA that Jeff wrote. If you have DA then you already have SpamBlocker on the server. It just needs to be configured for your use. Notice the top of the exim.conf file.

Thanks... is there any configuration documentation?... (i just realized the forums for SpamBlocker), how-to-use documentation for the not so technical savvy?

The is really only two things you have to do. Tell it what domains to enable spamblocker for and change the message that gets returned to the sender. Which part do you not understand?

anyone knows why spam (with Spamassassin) shows up in the spam folder under squirrel or roundcube.....but.. uebimiau says spam folder is empty ? i don't know where to tell uebimiau to look in the right spam folder.

ps- and anyone using atmail ? i can only login with virtual email accounts / client accounts can't login...anyone know what to do to work around this issue ?

uebimiau is not an imap client. The spam folder has to be read by an imap client.
