Hello,

When going through the stats of the domains on our DA server, I see that most traffic comes from bot-like names which review all sites multiple times per day.

I would like to deny access to the hostnames of these bots to reduce traffic and server load.

How can I do that? Can i do it centrally in the httpd.conf file for all virtual hosts? Or do I have to do it per individual domain?

I am pretty newbie, but a suggestion would do.

Thomas.

Personally I use my firewall for that to block the IP address.

I have requested from DA to use his IP Blacklist feature of the directadmin panel itself, and apply it to the apache server for some time now. This way each user can deny users per domain from the control panel. Still waiting :( now you have to do it manually.
