Renewal Let's Encrypt automatically or not?

Recently, I received few emails from Let's Encrypt informing that the website SSLs are going to expire. I wonder if DA will renew it automatically or will I need to do it manually again for all sites?

Thanks.

Normally it -should- renew automatically, but just keep track of it.
I had the same thing happening, getting emails from Let's Encrypt that SSL's were going to expire, and then suddenly they were indeed expired at that date. Other certificates on the same and on another server were renews automatically.

Have a look in DA on the SSL page of the domain, it should say there when the renewal will take place in xx days.

Thanks for answering. In the SSL part of the domain, it only shows 2 lines:

Certificate Hosts domain-name.com
Certificate Expiry Apr 14 14:12:00 2017 GMT

Should it have another line, as you wrote?

Yes. If you select this:
Code:
http://www.yourdomain.com:2222/CMD_SSL?domain=yourdomain.com
Almost at the bottom it should show something like this (default enhanced skin):
Let's Encrypt in use. Auto-renewal in 43 Days.
If you don't have this it might be wise to manually create the certificate again before april 14th.

Usually, it should be done automatically. You need to make some mods to the site.

Hello,

By default the recent Directadmin version tries to renew certs 30 days prior to their expiration date. In your case Directadmin failed to renew cert, unless you modified settings in Directadmin or have older Directadmin version with the default values of letsencrypt_renewal_days=85

So first of all make sure you've got the latest version of Directadmin with the default letsencrypt_renewal_days=60 and then try and renew your cert manually in Directadmin interface to make sure renewal works fine. It's OK to test it first, later you will know for sure it works as it should be.

Hey. Thanks everyone for answering.

Concerning the DA version, this is a fresh server with the latest DA release. I am not sure yet, but it looks like the renew option disappears when I backed up data from the old server, then restored to this new server. When I created the cert again, yes, I saw renewal information: Let's Encrypt in use. Auto-renewal in 59 Days.

Anyone else noticed this when backing up / restoring? Otherwise, I will try to test more when I have time :)

Thanks again.

Yes, I saw once an issue after restoring backups. I did not though dig into it. Directadmin might have a bug related to this. So if you have enough time to test it and information to report a bug please contact Directadmin developers via https://tickets.directadmin.com/

Ok, I just migrated two more accounts, and again, there is no auto renew option anymore. Bug submitted.

Got to admit, I cannot get this to work properly and cringe thinking about doing my next update.
