Replace Add Zone Issue?

Hi,

Recently my hosting provider had an issue with the server i was on and moved me to a new one with my DirectAdmin backup.

The issue is that all the old ips where still in place. What am asking is if i go to CMD_DNS_ADMIN and remove the old add zone will that erase the site files from it or it would not touch it. Since ill have to make a new one.

I hope i was clear enough.

Hello,

That should do your provider. You need to open a ticket with them asking to change old IP to a new one. Anyway as user you may change IPs only in DNS zones, removing zones or records in a DNS zone should not either affect or touch your user files.

I still have the issue with the old ip still saying its the server how do i edit it so the new main ip can be the server? Thanks

Do you have root access on the server? If not, and if you're an end-user you can't change any assigned IP, the only exception is DNS. Open a ticket with your hosting company to solve your issue and provide them with this link http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=250 .
