Replace Squirrelmail with AfterLogic?

+1 on that one.

Who use squirrelmail in these days?

Design is definitely better than Roundcube.
 
Wow, I tried their demo user account on my mobile.

It looks like a native app installed. Stunning.
 
Roundcube 1.4 should be pretty spiffy as well but have a choice is always good since Squirrelmail has been dead for quite some years now.
 
SquirrelMail is not dead at all - it is maintained and updated frequently. It just outdated - that's for sure.

I don't think it should be "replaced". Why not have multiple options?

I guess its up to your viewpoint on maintained. I personal have not used Squirrelmail since the Qmail days like 15 + years ago.

Their website shows support for long since EOL PHP versions https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php

A web server with PHP installed. PHP needs to be at least 4.1.0. PHP 4, PHP 5 and PHP 6 are all supported.

I mean 6 never even happened. This shows the website isn't up to date.

IMHO I couldn't recommend squirrel to a customer.

Others mileage may vary. Just me talking.
 
One look at the site of Squirrelmail shows 'news'dates ranging back to 5-9 years ago. That tells me nobody's home anymore.
 
The SquirrelMail website is not maintained but the project itself is. It is managed through SourceForge and you can check the page there - it frequently gets security updates and minor bug fixes.
