Hello, I would like to test out Percona Server with XtraDB with Directadmin.
My question is if anybody has tested it already with Directadmin and a production enviroment ?

If yes, how does it perform compared to MySQL ?
Does it have any bugs ?

There are any instructions or special things to do in order to move Directadmin from MySQL to Percona ?

I am running Debian 5.0 64-bit with DirectAdmin v1.37.0 and MySQL 5.0.91, I want to move to Percona Server 5.1.

I currently have the following plan :
1. Backup the Directadmin's database and our clients databases
2. Create recovery image of the system partition
3. Remove the mysql compiled by custombuild
5. apt-get install percona-server-server
6. Import directadmin backup if it's required
7. Profit

Is there any other way to do this, anybody did change mysql with percona ?

Personally i never tryed it and not know what is that honestly.

But, DA doesnt support as default so any modification on system like this you saud will have to be by you and i suggest to do in a test environment.

Regards

The Percona website says:
Percona Server is an enhanced drop-in replacement for MySQL
So it all depends what they mean by drop-in.

To me, drop-in means that it will use the same daemon file names, the same data and configuration file names, the same configuraton file (at least as a start), etc.

So it probably doesn't match all of my requirements. Which means you'll have a lot to do and to maintain, manually.
