I would like to give feedback to DirectAdmin, since the biggest competition of DirectAdmin is just 'cPanel / WHM', i know DirectAdmin is very easy for the beginner to use the Panel, but DA still need improvements to catch up the biggest competitor, such as :

Custom Apache Management Choices
Http Redirects
AwStats
and Professional Skin for DA

i know all of them is not very important, but it will be better and have the customer more love DA if DA has all of that features.

as long as I've been using the DA, i have no problem with it, and the consumption is very very low and have good security too.

and for the forum of directadmin, please make a new forum for the Upcoming version of DirectAdmin

after all,.. thanks...

and please forgive me if ive made mistaken

i just want DA to be bigger and bigger.

Hi,

honestly ive never used cpanel so i cant make a conclusion about what is better but im using DA since 5 years (maybe 7 dont remember) and i always had whatever ive needed and asked as a FR.

Regarding your list maybe i missunderstood something cause

Code:
Custom Apache Management Choices
There is a way to customize a single domain httpd.conf
Code:
Http Redirects
Ok, this i cant get what you mean but if you wanna point a 404 error to a defined custom page ok there is not, but a way to redirect an url already exist
Code:
AwStats
ù
Definitly this is part of DA, just need to enable it.
Code:
and Professional Skin for DA
Ok, DA dont got such a wonderful skin by default and they sayd so many time that they have no intention to point on a most beautiful skin for now, cause they prefer to get focus on features.
Personally i use Capri Skin (you can find it in this forum) made by walo, is very nice, many languages and professional. Also, walo made another skin named MarinaRS (you can find in this forum also).
Ok, you need to pay 25 box for a lifetime license, but, if is the only way to get a skin and keep getting excelent panel, well, i think is not such a big trouble.

Of course, this is my personal own opinion and you should think complete different about what i sayd, but, maybe will let you see some stuff in a different way )

Regards

okay.. maybe i just don't know about it...

but could the DA please make a professional-look skin for free ?

i believe, with a good looking skin, it can make the software become eye-catching

maybe it's help..

thanks..

Has been discussed many time from many user and DA Staff always replyed that wasnt their needs to make new skin, that was better way to continue implementation, bugfix and features instead on a new skin.

So, i dont think they will start to make a new skin.

Regards

@ditto
how to install AWStats using custombuild ?

could you please help me to install it ?

okay.. thanks for the info..

about the tally bandwidth

as usual, it always refresh the bandwidth usage once i opened it, then 4 hours when i want to open it again, it didn't refresh..

no.. when i saw at cronjob, there's nothing

how to configure it ? and whats the command ?

ok just need to put it in my cronjob configuration right ?

is it possible if i set it to 5 mins ?

Ive never edit this default setting but i suppose that you just need to edit that file and not duplicate that entry anywhere else.. And.. i suppose also that make a tally every 5min maybe can overload the serve... Maybe once per our or every 30mins should be ok.

I would suggest to contact directadmin staff for confirmation, or, wait that someone else that maybe already did something like this reply.

Regards

ok... but can admin ID make a cron job as there is no Cronjob menu at the mainmenu

If you want to update bandwidth more frequently try to set a cron-task with bandwidthtally:

Code:
echo "action=bandwidthtally&value=all" >> /usr/local/directadmin/data/task.queue

If you run full tally, your logs would get rotated with every run of it.

You should shell in as root, and find where the cronjob runs now. If it runs as part of a script doing many jobs, delete it from the script and create a new cronjob just for it. If it's in it's own cronjob, Just edit it to run as often as you want.

do i just need to paste the code you gave to me in ssh shell ?

for execute without wait the 1min you should start /usr/local/directadmin/dataskq but not so necessary untill you need it in debug, so the command for debug should be:

Code:
/usr/local/directadmin/dataskq d800
