reseller backup excluding homedir

I'd like to see a feature to make reseller-level backups without the need to include their home directories.

I'd like to have such an option because I already make incremental backups with rsync for the home dirs because it saves a lot of datatraffic and cpu power.
But if the server crashes and I'd need to restore all accounts, it's the easiest way to restore a reseller-level backup, because all the account data is in it.
So I'd like to have an option not to include the home dirs of users.

Are their any other people interested?

It's an interesting concept. But I don't think you're going to see it added to DirectAdmin as a feature.

Why?

Because it would only be useful to those who use their own system to do /home backups, and those people could probably do their own complete backup solution.

My opinion, anyway.

The problem is the restore.
Of course I'm able to write a nice script to backup the same files as DirectAdmin does. But it's a more difficult to restore all user's settings.
But if nobody is interested I'll have to give it a try.

I would be very interested in reseller / user_backup files but without the
public_html folder of the users.

The public_html dirs of the user i then use rsync.

The tar files become way too large and this would be the way to restore the user accounts and the separate restore the public_html files os the users.

I've searched the forum and I found out that there must be some more people around who are interested in this feature.
Please post your comment in this topic.
