Hi,

We are trying to create an SSL cert in our reseller account however we are getting told that the IP address needs to be unique... IT IS!

The IP address is assigned to reseller, but still showing as 'free', even tho reseller own hosting set to that IP

Help please!

Neil :D

Can someone please help with this? We are at a loss as to why this is occuring.

Neil :-)

Since you've not gotten any responses by now, I thought I'd pipe in and point out that this forum is not the best way to get tech support.

If you're a reseller, then the best place to get tech support is through your provider.

If you're an admin, the best place to get tech support is from the company that sold you DA, or that provided it to you on a dedicated server.

DA does read these forums from time to time, but we've all learned from experience it's not the best way to reach them.

I am the provider running DA on my servers :D

DA sold me DA

So I should email [email protected] then?

We have got a shared SSL cert installed for our users on one ip address but all we wish to do is run an SSL cert on our main domain which is on a different IP address to our users and is owned an unique to our domain netmotivated.co.uk but DA is not allowing us to generate an SSL on that domain

Hey,

I'm not sure if this is what you have done or not but...

When you view the IPs the IP for your Reseller must say "Owned" under Status and "Reseller_Name_Here" under User(s).

To get it to do that, login as the Reseller and go to "List Users" and then "Modify your own user data".

From there you can assign the IP you need to yourself.

I think I have that right... Does that help any... or even work?

Hi David,

Thanks for reply.

We had done all of that.

Here is how the entry looks under admin login in 'IP Management'

ip status reseller user
195.82.99.115 free netmotivated

Under 'User' column it is blank?!

Under our 'Reseller' Login, here is what is showing in the 'Change the User's IP:

Set IP To 195.82.99.115 - netmotivated's current IP

So our problem is why is DA saying the IP is free and not owned by netmotivated?!

Neil :D

This is a guess because I don't have time to research right now, but it sounds as if it's just a problem in one of the files.

Can you cut and past the contents of your:

/usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ips/195.82.99.115

file?

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Here it is:

gateway=
netmask=255.255.255.0
ns=
reseller=netmotivated
status=free
value=

Neil :D

You could change it to say owned and see if that fixes it for you.

Of course make a copy first so you can change it back.

Hey,

Under the Admin login in IP Management...

Did you "Assign" the IP to the Reseller?

That might be what is getting you...

It should say "your_reseller_name" under Reseller for that IP.

David

Hello,

Here's a step-by-step checklist to go through:

in the /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ips/195.82.99.115 file:
1) leave the status as "free".
2) leave the reseller as "netmotivated"

3) check /usr/local/directadmin/data/users/netmotivated/ip.list. Make sure 195.82.99.115 is in it.
4) (as the reseller) Go to Reseller Panel -> List Users -> Modify You Own User Data
5) select the 195.82.99.115 file from the list, and click save.

I had the same problem.
Here is what I did to correct it.

Go to: Reseller Level >> List Users >> Modify your own user data
I was assigned an IP and it was free instead of owned.
I have another IP which was free as well.
I switch to the other free IP and then I owned that IP.
Then I swiched back to the IP which I was asigned previously and then I owned that one.

So is all you may have to do is switch to a different Free IP, and then switch back. Good luck -Jason
