restore backup issue

Hi,
I was doing weekly backups, now I had to made a restore, the most recent backup had like 2 days, so I have used it, at the end, the data that was restored had almost 2 months old? what can cause this? the backup was being made but with old data?

Hello,

Unpack the .tar.gz file and see modified time of files. Check manually MySQL dumps, etc.

Note we recently saw a similar problem; we back up to current_backup directory on a remote server, and rotate that along with backup1 through backup6 directories for daily backup. Error was caused by overwriting in wrong directory because of a problem causing rotate to not work as it should have.

So be sure to check to be sure you're not saving or using the wrong backups if you save multiple backups.
