Hi,
today, DirectAdmin add MX / mail records for local-host by default and it's make some problem for account with external Mail server
it is possible to add to DirectAdmin the option to check when user: add new domain (with new user or current user) / change domain name / add pointer
if there is no any external MX, configure as local (as it now)
but if the MX is managed by another server
1. the MX will configure to use the external MX Records
2. the use local mail server will be unchecked for this domain.
3. for any, Just in case, if things are not clear we can add notification that "in this domain name, the MX / mail is manage outside, to change it please click on (Feature guide)

What do you say?

Best Regards,

We have the option to disable the local mail server for a user.

I think nservices want's to suggest to have an option when creating a new user, adding a new domain or editting a user, to have that option to disable/enable local mailserver directly visible.
So he won't have to change it like it is now:
Go to User Panel -> domain.com -> Email -> MX Records
but an easyer way.

I also would like to have it in the DNS editor directly rather then having to use an extra click.
There was already a suggestion with support for it here:
http://forum.directadmin.com/showthread.php?t=43964

And I think the suggestion of nservices is to have such option when creating a domain (or new user) directly so you don't have to make a change afterwards by editting the dns of the user.

thanks for this replays!
the Idea is to do it Automatically and not per package so the reseller / admin don't need to check if the email is remote
also in whmcs orders, I don't want to confuse the customer with this technical issue.

Ideas?
1. check if it possible to add IF that check where is the MX (local or remote) and act According to the results
2. add this Possibility of something additional to DirectAdmin
3. other Idea?

Best Regards,
Star Network.
