robots.txt and .htaccess

I would like to be able to edit the .htaccess and robots.txt files with an easy to use click feature.
 
File editor could be used for advanced people, but for people just starting out an API could be of use.
 
I'm confused, cryptodan. With the file editor you click on the edit button and edit it the way you want. What are you writing about that would be easier with an API?

Not many people know how to format the robots.txt or the .htaccess files. So an API with common options like block google and add the directories and stuff like that.
 
My guess is that's way beyond the scope of a hosting control panel. Do any others do it?

Well, It would be a first then. I am unaware of others being able to do this. If I knew more about programming I would make a plugin, but I know jack crap about it.
 
Seems more like a plugin that someone could develop for directadmin though.
 
I what will happen. I will start working on it and about the time its complete DirectAdmin will release their own.
 
Tell me what common things you would want in both and I will work on it when I have time.
