root passwd changed always brings down VPS

Hi folks.
Anyone know why every single time I change root passwrd, it brings my VPS down?
I cannot load http://64.20.50.36:2222/
Also cannot connect using SSH Putty.
Please help.

It does not bring your VPS down. For some reason your ip address gets blocked.
I can visit the DA login page.

So check why you are blocked. Also, add your home ip to the csf.allow and csf.ignore files and restart the csf/lfd firewall.
This way you won't get locked out anymore by CSF.

You can also create a /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ip_whitelist file and add your ip in there too so DA itself can't lock you out either.
