Hai,
I'm having the same problem ...

When I place the form and the FormMail on my site. All I get in return is that he can not find the cgi or pl script. The cgi-bin is not placed in my public_html.

I do not prefer to make my site accessible for everyone so how can I make it work?

How can you make what work?

You've begun a new thread, so it's impossible to tell what you're writing about.

Sorry, my misstake

I wanted to make a MailForm, normally when you do that on a provider where everything is made for you, you have one option and that's it.

But now I have to make it on my own. That would't be a problem if I had some experiance in programming cgi or php, but I don't.
(first problem)

Now I found some usefull cgi scripts, which I can use as cgi or pl scripts. I've done everything the script says and still it does not work. The problem is I have to put the script in a cgi-bin in my public_html, but there isn't any because it is placed outside this folder. Oke, that I understand, but when I place it in this bin-folder, and I try out my form, he can't find the script.....

And, yes I have changed permission to 755.

What's next?

Are you sure there's no cgi-bin directory inside your public_html directory. There should be, as that's the way DirectAdmin configures sites.

They?

Who's they?

Is it your server?

Or are you a hosting customer?

If you're a hosting customer your hosting provider should be able to fix it for you.

Jeff

They is www.activedomain.nl, that's where I bought a hosting account. I asked them yesterday. They said I could make a new cgi-bin map, but they didn't say anything about a ht-file.

Can I just make this file in Putty? Or something else?

I don't know what file you're writing about; this is the first time you've brought it up.

Once you've got your cgi-bin directory, you should get and install whatever cgi program you need.
