same user - different size

Hey,
I'm moving clients between servers, and several (not all) of them are moved with different size and bandwidth.

I tried:

• running the tally again (different size)
• checking the size on disk with: du * -sh (different size)
• checking the size on disk with: du -shc --apparent-size * (same size)

why is there a different, which may be sometime twice the original file size.

This could be the reason:

Depending on your partition format type, some files use more disk space when the partition size is larger.

Possibly, in the case of very small files. I'm not saying this is the only possibility, but without checking more deeply you can't discount the possibility.
