Sendmail issues

Firstly - I'm new here so hi everyone- I've been reading a lot of useful posts but now i'm stuck!

I have installed a web form that uses sendmail to send out the emails. Because the emails are hosted by the people i bought the domain from there seems to be major conflicts.

A confirmation mail is sent out and the from address appears as [email protected] instead of [email protected]

I have followed these steps http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=8 to tell DA that my emails are hosted elsewhere but it does not solve the problem

Can anyone shed any light on this

This has been discussed previously. There may be two parts to your issue.

First your form program has to set the sender and the from address.

Second your exim.conf file may need to be modified to allow the sender name.

The latter has been discussed on these forums previously.

I have had a read of so many threads on this site trying to get to the bottom of it and got a bit clouded. Don't suppose you can point me to the one that resolves the issue?

I have found the best way to deal with this is to use SMTP and not use the sendmail command at all. Then your script acts as a mail client.
