I would like to separate the log files so I have useragent's in one, referrer's in one, access in one, and errors in one. Yet when I apply the settings via editing the httpd.conf file manually the settings get wiped out. How do I do this, so the settings remain saved?

Why couldn't they have just enabled us to make our own changes to the httpd.conf file and allow them to be saved. Seems like a lot of work just to add custom logging directories. Or at least have a custom template already prepared for such people who like to keep their logging files separated.

I should just beable to add what i want on a perdomain basis instead of globally. There are somethings I like about DirectAdmin, and there are somethings I do not like and this is one of them.

You'll have to ask them.

There are probably several million different customizations people might want. You're the first to mention custom logging directories on these forums. How would they, how could they, possibly know which ones to create?

You can. Simply make the changes to the user-level httpd.conf file and chattr the file immutable.

DirectAdmin is designed as a control panel for hosting companies; generally they want the same configurations. Your mileage may vary.

DirectAdmin is the most configurable Hosting control panel I've ever found. Again, your mileage may vary.

Quite possibly they could set it up, and allow you to edit your settings via the httpd.conf settings. Via the Control Panel.
