Sorry for double post

64bit Operating Systems / Server Configuration

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Planning on buying:
- Intel Xeon QuadCore 2.33ghz (x2)
- 6GB DDR
- 148GB SAS HDD

Am I going to have any problems with the dual processor setup?

Also, exactly what will not work with a 64bit Ubuntu system?

I'm not at all familar with CentOS, isn't it just RedHat with strange configurations for the default services?

DirectAdmin is a statically compiled C++ binary. So it's likely that DirectAdmin won't run with a 64bit Ubuntu system. More in-depth questions should probably be directed to the DirectAdmin sales department.

It's not a double post anymore; the other one has been removed.

Hmm. Not exactly sure what you're trying to say, but I will contact the sales dept. Thanks for the reply.

What I'm trying to say is that it's the DirectAdmin daemon itself which won't run.

What about the FreeBSD 7.0 AMD64? I have to know because I just spent a few days building a new server an now it appears I may have to start all over. Do you have way to test this? Is there a compatibility mode maybe?

Also I do own a license but is there a way to run a test environment locally? I was thinking of making a plugin and obviously that's a bad idea on my live server. It would be great if a single localhost were allowed.

Responded on the other thread a moment ago; please do not double post.
