Hello,

I have an question.
I'm monitoring my server but sometimes i got the message that the server went down.
When i look, its down.

Nothing can be found in the logs.

Where i need to look for someting wrong.?

Already thanks.

This can be caused by many reasons, including:

- Faulty hardware (run a full system check and stress test)
- Faulty power source
- Thermal protection (check your system temperature)
- System bug (update your SO, BIOS, IPMI controller firmware, check your system drivers)

Have you confirmed that it is actually the server that is going down, or perhaps that it's just unavailable due to the network?

Perhaps not available ont the network.
Nothing to find that the server was going down or restarted again.
Its also an cloud system.

Just a good way to monitor your server is to use munin. Graphs might give good tips on what happens on your server.

It appears from your posts that the server monitor says it's down, and then say's it's back up, but when you check uptime, the server was not recently down.

If that's correct then the problem is either your server get's busy or the network fails.

When the server is running check the output of traceroute (Windows: tracert) from your local machine to the server, and save the output. Then when it's down do the same, and see if you get all the way to your last hop before your router before experiencing difficulty. That will give you an idea if the problem is your network or your server.

Then as zEitEr suggests, munin will help you track it down further.
