Hello,

Basically, my VPS provider had to move me to a new server and the IP's changed.

I have 2 IP's.

1 IP was dedicated to one site, the second was used for all the other sites (marked as "server" under Admin > IP Management).

After the move I added the 2 new IP's via IP Management and proceeded to move all of the accounts over to the new IP's.

The first problem I encountered is that after moving all the accounts, I could not move the "main" server/DA domain (that I access from Admin > User Level) over to the new "shared" IP.

I used Admin > Reseller Level > Modify your own User data to finally move the main account over to the "shared" IP.

The issue this created is that I now have the old server IP still locked on the system (I can't remove it) and likewise I am am unsure how I change the "status" (under IP Management) from "shared" back to "server".

Attached is a screenshot of what I mean. You can see the first row is my old IP (marked as "server" correctly), below this is the new shared IP that holds the main DA domian and should now become "server".

I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how I can change the status from "shared" to "server" and how I can remove the old IP (on the first row of the screenshot)

Thank you,

Tom

Hello,

Yes I have seen that, but I did not see it until after we made the changes.

The article states: Boot the server with the new server ip. Do this the same way you did originally for the old server IP. This should be done in your system's network settings and not in DirectAdmin (yet). Do not add the IP to DA through the IP Manager.

"Do not add the IP to DA through the IP Manager."

We added both IP's and proceeded with migrating the accounts.

All sites are now live on the server and working.

Aside from this issue I am having, if I follow that guide it will likely break things I assume?

Hey,

Well, the options you probably have are to:

1. Put things back like they were and follow the Knowledgebase article using the ipswap.sh script...

or

2. Try and modify the associated files that house the IP addresses...

Depending on the number of accounts on the server #1 is probably recommended...

If you look at the ipswap.sh you will see the associated files... Obviously, you have already modified some via the DA GUI... The other ones that still have the old IP appear to be in /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ips/ and /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ip.list.

It would be wise to ask support prior to attempting #2...

David
