Server IPs

i also don't know how to add as domain as "shared"
it's being added as "free" or "owned"

IP's are shared at the "reseller" level in DA.
Once the IP has been added to the server under IP Management at "admin" level. Go to "reseller" level and select IP Management again. In this menu you can tick the IP address in the list and tag it as a shared address.
You can only do this if the IP concerned is free and not allocated to a user.

The server IP address is always the first IP address you add. So to change it, delete all your IP addresses and then add the new server IP address back in first.

so i need to remove all users (so they don't use any IPs) to be able to do that?

i hope there's a better solution :(

Are you completely renumbering?

You can do it as root through the shell, but if you make a mistake you can't reach your system anymore :( .

So probably your best bet is to add a nonroutable number, for example 192.168.1.2.

Then temporarily assign your sites to that number to do the renumbering.

Need more than just one temporary number?

Anything between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.255.254 is available.

Note that this _will_ make your sites unvavailable on the 'net.

If you don't want that, then please explain better what you're trying to do and why.

i did that...
now i have 3 sites assigned to 192.168.0.5 and i can't remove this IPs as well since they have sites assigned to them

i need to change the IP because the DC added a wrong IP as server

and now i'm getting very stressed with this thing
isn't there a raw thing that i can just change this IPs and fine? I can redo the httpd.conf by hand if necessary (that's what I'm needing to do everytime... seens it would be easier it i hadn't installed DA)

all i need is to change all sites hosted on 209.10.10.10 to 66.10.10.10

btw, jlasman, my stress is not directed to you... but I need someone from DA to support me urgently
i can't add sites to this server while it's not done... and time is running

I've tried to replicate what you're trying to do Lem0nHead on a test server and I have to say I can't see how to change the server IP address whilst keeping your exisiting sites and users active on your server. The server IP address wont budge while there's any other IP addresses set up in DA. Unless someone else knows the files in DA to edit manually then I would have to resort to backing up users / sites from within user level DA menu then deleting sites / users, making the IP address changes and then restoring the backup to newly created empty user accounts. Not much help I know but the best I can think of. :(

This worked on my test box. Have a go at your own risk!

Edit /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ip.list
Change the IP address that is currently your server IP address to the correct value.
cd into /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ips
In there is a file for each IP address whose file name is the IP address.
Rename the file for your old IP address to the new one and edit it to make sure the netmask is correct.
Restart directadmin and all should look correct under Admin / IP management.
Good luck!

Looks like you've got to do the same under
/usr/local/directadmin/data/users/admin
Theres another ip.list there.
That's got to have the old address replaced with the new one as well.
Can't you tell I'm winging this one!

thanks very much for the help, cprompt

15minuteserver just told me i can't do that because the license is for the other IP, so i'll need to assign the IP I want for a reseller so he can create accounts using this IP

just one (i hope) more doubt
is there a way to change resellers?
i want to change all users owned by "lem0n" to the "admin" reseller account

thanks

There's a script available to do it; search these forums :) .
