Server migration and license invalidity

Hello all,

I have 2 DA licences and (ofcourse) two servers. A few weeks ago i did a final migration; before that a few years ago:
- installed a new server;
- installed DA with license of server that is phased out;
- the moment i moved the license from old to new server the old server still had a week or so before the license "timed out" and DA stopped working.

This gave me enough time to commute back and forth between the old and new server before i actually unplug the old server.

But times have changed. During the last migration on the moment i installed the license on the new server the old server stopped working almost instantly. Ofcourse i have enough backups and SSH access but it's just easier if DA is still working in the "commute back and forth" period.

Short question; is there a workaround so the old server is working for at least a few days?

Several threads about this but long story short:
1. buy an license for 1 month (support DA)
2. poormans snake oil: make an trial license request and use this for your migration

Sorry, but I am negligent in following the latest developments.

I will contact DA support and/or will checkout a trial license request. I assume it is easy to switch license (https://docs.directadmin.com/directadmin/general-usage/licensing.html)

There was also an official answer from DA recently.
3.) Do like it always officially was done, contact DA for a temp license.
