Dear all,
We are migrating our old servers to new ones. We've done this before without any problems, but now the default mail software has changed from vm to dovecot. We have only one reseller for all domains.
On the old server we run:
DirectAdmin 1.31.2
vm-Pop3d 1.1.7f-DA-2 for mail
On the new server, this got installed:
DirectAdmin 1.31.4
dovecot 1.0.13 for mail
I'm planning to backup the reseller on the old server, create a reseller package and reseller on the new server and restore the backup. Now the question, what happens to the existing mail addresses and e-mail in the boxes? Will the be restored and usable by dovecot on the new server?
Another question, we use the following partition structure on FreeBSD:
swap
/
/tmp
/var
/usr
/home (largest partition - here are all website files stored)
Where is the dovecot mail being stored by default?
Thanks for helping me out,
Niels
