Server monitoring through SNMP or Perfmon?

Hi all :) We are running a CentOS server with DirectAdmin, which hosts a Flash streaming video application. A test-company is now going to test the application, and in the test they want to include server performance. For that they have asked me to grant access to either perfmon or SNMP. From what I found so far, SNMP is something for Linux, but I'm not that technical.

My questions are:

- Is SNMP already installed on CentOS/Directadmin servers?
- If not, how can I install it?
- And how can I grant someone access to SNMP?

Okay, I've installed it with yum, and I can run it by just typing snmpd, but I can only find snmpd in /usr/sbin... how can I check if it's running, and how do I configure it so that only the testcompany can access it?
