service dovecot faild

service dovecot faild and not login webmail :

Shutting down dovecot:                                     [FAILED]
Starting dovecot: Fatal: Dovecot is already running with PID 2922 (read from /var/run/dovecot/master.pid)
                                                           [FAILED]

and in when that login in webmail show this : login fail

after kill pids and this commands :
kill 2922
and another pid and this :
/sbin/service xinetd stop
/sbin/chkconfig xinetd off
/sbin/service dovecot start
problem solved
