I use DirectAdmin every day on my shared webhosting but would like to setup a VPS.
What's be best base for setting up a VPS in combination with DirectAdmin

This is what I'm aiming for:
- Ubuntu server 12.04
- PHP engine
- Web Server: Nginx (much faster than Apache)
- Database: MySQL

and DirectAdmin as the layer above all those services.
Or am I making a mistake that DirectAdmin includes all these services (except the OS Server itself)?

Thanks for the advice,
just learning ... as I have no skills yet with Unix base OS'es.

DirectAdmin Control Panel Software
Apache 1.3, 2.0, 2.2, 2.4 Web Server
Php 4.4, 5.2 or 5.3, 5.4 Php Scripting Language (CLI, or suPhp(cgi))
PhpMyAdmin MySQL Database Manager
MySQL 4.1/5.0/5.1/5.5 MySQL Databases
Exim 4 Exim Mail Manager
Majordomo 1.94.5 Majordomo Mailing List Manager
Dovecot Pop/Imap Server. Uses Maildir
Proftpd 1.3 FTP Server

Tpo which I'll add that DirectAdmij is very configurable. For example you can replace Apache with NginX (not really recommended without a lot of skills).

But you would be responsible for managing your server yourself. If you're as unfamiliar with server management as you think you are, you should possibly look for a hosted VPS reseller or even hosted VPS admin level solution; you get your own machine, but run by someone else.
