Setting up dns for ircd...

Right... This is my first post (Hurray!)

I have a question about these kind of things : irc.yourdomain.com

How do you set this up in directadmin? The ircd is running and you can connect to the server IP but I want it to work for irc.mydomain.com as well...

I know it's something about A records but I don't know exactly what to do

Add A record irc which one is pointing to your IP where you have ircd server.

Are you shure you want to run irc server ?

razor666, do you own a DirectAdmin based server? If so, you'll find instructions for setting up DNS here. You can find the DNS option on the admin section of your control panel.

If you're a webhosting customer who uses a DirectAdmin control panel you can follow the same instructions if the DNS link appears in your DirectAdmin control panel, and if it doesn't, you can ask your hosting company for help.

If you're neither of the above, then you're asking in the wrong place.
