Hello,

I have a dedicated server with DA installed and have to IP addresses. What I want is to have two basic nameservers (ns1 and ns2) for the main domain on the server and to use it also for any other domain on that server. In Administration Settings I changed the name server settings to ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com. In IP management I see to IP addresses; one connected to the server and another (not yet used) IP address. What I do is select both IP addresses and assign them both to the reselleraccount I created. After that I log in as the reseller and go to ‘nameservers’. There I select the two IP addresses and choose ‘create ns1 and ns2.domain com’ (I don’t know the difference between virtual or normal, so I don’t select the virtual option). Then I get the error message that one of the IP addresses is assigned to the server and that I need two IP addresses for the name server. Is it possible to use those two IP addresses, or do I need another new IP address? And If I can use these two, what am I doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but, probably there are differences in use virtual or non-virtual and it might be better to not use the virtual option, or am I wrong?

The main difference is that virtual is required if you're not using two unused IP#s.
