Shared IP problem

Hello

I have 4 domains which I created in DirectAdmin with a reseller account ... the funny thing is, when I try to access 3 of them they're all accessible. The 4th one, kept giving me this:

This IP is being shared among many domains.
To view the domain you are looking for, simply enter the domain name in the location bar of your web browser.

All 4 are on the same IP and have been added in the same way ... once again, I appreciate the advice that you can throw my way.

When the domain was created it wasn't created properly; there's probably no entry for it in the user's httpd.conf file.

Try deleting the domain (save any important files first) and then recreating it, watching carefully for any error messages.

I was able to access the site yesterday, but now when I try to access it again, I'm getting:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.electrohub.com Port 80

I get the same exact message most of the time when setting up domain pointers and going quickly to the url on the web. The message is only there for a short time and then sudddenly goes away without apparent reason, and the domain pointer starts working, I believe it takes a few hrs on average from what I have often seen.

IMO it is NOT a domain creation setup error as Jeff has indicated but is merely a delay for the propogation to work in the-web, or some type of built-in delay involving the server itself, perhaps the server resources are a bit overloaded or slow. (that is only an educated guess).

For the 4th account, you set more than 1 on the Domains numbers box.

When you create an IP based account, you must enter 1 on the domains number box. If you enter more than 1, the IP is considered as shared.

Hope this helps...

DirectAdmin uses a queue-based system, and the delay can be as long as slightly over one minute, between the time anything is requested and the time it's completed.

As far as propagation of a domain name is concerned; if it's a new domain name or a change to a current domain name it could take up to 48 hours or so. If it's a subdomain of an existing domain it shouldn't take any time at all, unless you've tried to reach it before you've set it up; then it could take up to twentyfour hours.
