Hi guys,

Is there way to install Shared SSL for the DirectAdmin?
If yes, would you please specify how to go about this.

Thanks

You can set up a Certificate on a new subdomain, for example shared.example.com, where example.com is your domain.

Then you give everyone a subdirectory on that domain, and create an ftp account with access to just that subdirectory.

The issue you'll have is in figuring out the resources used for that subdirectory, and charging it to the user.

Isn't it still possible to use one SSL (let it be shared) on a single account with a number of domains in traditinal way? I think it is.

Alex,

Secure Certificates are limited by domain name, not by account name. My understanding is that if you put the domains into one account you'll still need to do similarly to what I wrote.

If you're sharing among one user, yes, you can do it in the user account, and get the accouting for the user's use of resources, but you'll still need the subdomain and the Certificate issued for the subdomain. You can't have one Certificate answer for multiple domain names, even if on the same IP#s, without incurring an error every time a visitor visits the site.

So I really don't understand what you mean by traditional way. Could you please explain in more detail?

Thanks.

Jeff

OK, I might have misunderstood the idea of a shared SSL. Nevertheless I've read this article, and now your idea is clear. Thank you, Jeff.

I find it difficult to answer your question now. Probably I meant directadmin interface.
