site redirection and ssl errors

Hi,

I have a website that was moved from olddomain.com to newdomain.com. A site redirection was created on olddomain.com which works. However when users visit https://olddomain.com they are greeted with an SSL error which scares of users. Is there a way to solve this? As far as I know let's encrypt is not possible because the entire domain is redirected, and disabling ssl on olddomain.com did not work.

You mean olddomain.com?

Does newdomain.com has SSL?
How did you create the redirect?
