i know where the links on the admin and reseller are but i cant find the links for the user

does anyone know what part of the skin that is located for the user

thanx

It depends on which skin you're using. I use the enhanced skin, and on the right side, in the blue column, under Access Level I see all three.

hi jeff

im sorry i think you misunderstand me

im referring to the links when a user is logged in to his control panel the links for ftp emails and so on all server stuff

i want to add and remove them

thanx

these links

Domain Setup

Change Password
Login History
Support Center
Installed Perl Modules
Create/Restore Backups
Site Summary / Statistics / Logs

FTP Management
Password Protected Directories
File Manager

Are you asking how to add and remove links? You do that by creating your own skin. You can modify the skin you're using now by copying it under a new name and then make changes.

Jeff

ok this is what im trying to alter

the links in this image

does anyone know how to and where to find them

thanxx

hey jeff

i guess that you know what the answer to my question is

if you are what you say you are

is administrator of directadmin

i think....

I think if you are looking for the raw files for the skins you would look here
/usr/local/directadmin/data/skins

thanx ive tried that

i need something more specific

i need the exact location

no guesses

Hello,

For the text itself, just create a new language pack.
You can copy ours and just change the words:
http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=35

The exact location for the page you've pasted is at:
/usr/local/directadmin/data/skins/enhanced/lang/en/user/show_domain.html

However, I don't recommend you edit it directly. Create a copy to your own language pack, and modify it there (see id=35 above)

If you actually need to change the link values, add more, or remove some, etc... then you have 2 options.

1) Create an entire new skin:
Code:
cd /usr/local/directadmin/data/skins
cp -Rp enhanced [b]mynewskins[/b]

2) or you can use the files_custom.conf to create a single override of the show_domains.html file:
http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=295

More info on customizing bits of DA:
http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=294

I'm not the only Jeff on these forums, so please excuse me if you were writing about someone else.

Interesting assumption. Of course, when you assume You make an ass out of u and me.

I'm a DirectAdmin server administrator but I've never had to make major changes to DirectAdmin skins, so I had no idea how to make this sort of change to the skin until I read John's reply.

Jeff

I gave ...

I gave you the exact location. Your reply is quite rude and will make the other users here NOT want to help you in the future.
I am sure I personally will NOT make that mistake again.
Just to be clear, the replies here are NOT from direct admin for the most part, they are from users of direct admin.

to those of you i have upset or offended :( my bad

i can only say that even with that modification that john had put up means that it does still not remove the link just puts a none in its place so some where there is a none in the script to hold that link...

i currently have 2 vps servers both with directadmin.

im thinkin of changing them to cpanel because i have used it before and it works good and easy to administrate.

i gave directadmin a chance but its not working out, and from some of the comments i have recieved from directadmin people and customers i have and host for its not a very good system.

but i'v got to say i do like it.. hmmmm

Hello,

The "none" text means that there is a token in the skin that is not being filled. If you paste the skin file that has the token which is being filled withg "none", and the value of the token (it's name), then I'll be able to tell you what's going on.

This is also a useful token for debugging, as it will dump all of the tokens available in that location, along with their values:
http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=623

Also let us know if you're just trying to change the language/wording for existing URLs, or if you're actually trying to modify the url values themselves (or add new ones) as that will play into what path you take when making these changes.

John

hi John

sorry for the long reply

and yes the link is the one i want to remove from the paenl to make the panel easier for my clients

thats all i wanted to do in the first place

i dont like the other themes/skins

just that one "enhanced"

gettin rid of the none is a bit of a pain

thanx
