After converting to dovecot smtp auth works but the users can send email even without smtp auth.
I want users to authenticate first before sending emails..
Anybody noticed that?

I noticed a bit of confusion in your post.

Your subject is: smtp auth doesnt work after convert to dovecot but the first line of your post states that smtp auth works.

Which is true?

I'm presuming the second, but if I change the subject of your post to stmpt auth works after convert to dovecot I don't think anyone would look at your post; it seems a bit obvious; it's supposed to work. And it does.

DirectAdmin uses two methods of authentication. Users can either authenticate by standard SMTP authentication, or by popb4smtp authentication. The latter can be disabled; you can find a post with instructions here.
