SMTP restart failed, could not find /etc/init.d/exim

I get this error many times for my website can any one please help me to solve this problem.

You may have to reinstall the exim program...

Try:

/usr/local/directadmin/scripts/exim.sh

after its done try

/sbin/service exim restart

If that doesnt fix it you may have to reinstall the exim program via rpm following instructions from this thread:

is it gonna effect the server

is this error dangerous and if i reinstall is it gonna effect the mail server..because i work on a productions server. and i dont have backup of that website. lot of code is encrypted.

so reinstallation of exim.h will it effect the server?

Not as long as you restart exim after running the script. I dont see how if your server goes down your ever gonna restart it with the condition its in currently.
